Basically you will have two choices for your final project:
Publishing to Video Tape To create a taped version of your project you will have to run cables (FireWire, S
Video, or Composite) from the computer to your recorder or camera. The software will have to “render” the video. Rendering is the process of creating full screen
version of all titles, transitions, and other things you have added to the project. Rendering can be time consuming so don’t expect to click on a button and have a
video ready in five minutes – the time involved is proportional to the content and your computer’s power. You can easily have 10-20 minutes of rendering for a short three minute video.
Publishing to File Depending on the format and software you are using there are a number of
options for your video. The most common formats are “AVI”, “MPEG”, “REAL” (RealNetworks). You will have a number of parameters and codecs to choose from
and my advice is to try them all to see what works best with your system. One thing to be aware of is standard video sizes. The small size of streaming video is 160x120 pixels and the larger size is twice this at 320x240.
You can affect the file size of your video by selecting appropriate frame size, frames per second, and audio quality. Of course, the better the quality, the bigger the file size.
Certain codecs and formats may not be available due to the way your video was
captured.
